Presentation of the Pôle

About us

The Pôle des Technologies propres de la Gaspésie was created in 2018 in response to a regional desire to maximize the economic spin-offs associated with the construction and commissioning of the McInnis cement plant in Port-Daniel–Gascons. The Hub was created through the initiative of five founding partners: the Municipality of Port-Daniel–Gascons, the Le Rocher-Percé Regional County Municipality, the Bonaventure Regional County Municipality, the Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine Regional Environmental Council (CREGÎM) and McInnis Cement.

A non-profit organization founded in 2018, the Pôle des Technologies propres de la Gaspésie is a tool of regional economic development that aims to create industrial symbiosis by substituting the inputs and using the outputs of the McInnis cement plant in order to create wealth for the benefit of communities while reducing the plant’s environmental footprint.

To achieve this ambitious goal, the Hub is actively working to research and implement clean technologies, primarily aimed at the use of alternative fuels with a smaller ecological footprint, as well as carbon capture and reuse.

Our vision

To become a benchmark in Quebec and Canada, through a local industrial symbiosis project, by applying advancements in clean technologies relating to the use of alternative fuels and carbon capture and reuse.

Our mission

The Hub’s mission is to work toward the establishment of companies and organizations in the region in connection with clean technologies, prioritizing processes that help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Our objectifs

  • To deploy an ecologically and financially efficient industrial network
  • To develop a proactive approach
  • To stimulate clean industrial investment
  • To optimize access to investment programs by local businesses
